Project Apis CIC

What We Offer

Our workshops are designed to bring people closer to nature through hands on learning, creativity, and real world environmental action.

They are separate from our Community Apiary programme and can be booked by organisations looking to provide engaging educational or wellbeing experiences for the people they support.

Every session is delivered by an experienced beekeeper, includes all materials, and can be tailored to suit your group’s needs and abilities.

Introduction to Beekeeping Experience

An immersive outdoor session held at our private apiary, giving participants a genuine insight into the world of beekeeping.

Participants will
• learn how a hive functions
• understand bee behaviour and safety
• see inside a working colony
• explore the role of pollinators in our ecosystem

This session includes full protective equipment and is available May to September, weather dependent.

Candle Making Workshops

A creative and sensory workshop exploring one of the hive’s most versatile products, beeswax.

We offer two formats

Hot wax candle making
Participants create scented candles using melted beeswax, colours, and fragrances

Cold rolled beeswax candles
A safe and accessible option where participants roll wax sheets and decorate them to take home

Ideal for wellbeing sessions, enrichment days, and creative activities.

Bee Hotel Making

A practical conservation focused workshop where participants build and decorate their own bee hotel to take home.

The session covers
• the importance of solitary bees
• how habitats support pollinators
• simple ways to improve biodiversity locally

A great hands on activity that leaves a lasting environmental impact.

Wildflower Seed Bomb Workshop

A fun and accessible environmental activity where participants create wildflower seed bombs to plant or share in their community.

The session explores
• why wildflowers matter
• how small actions support pollinators
