This page explains how users of the Project Apis Hive Manager app can request deletion of their app account and related personal data.

This account deletion page applies only to the Project Apis Hive Manager app, operated by Project Apis CIC.

How to request account deletion in the app

If you can access your Project Apis Hive Manager account, you can request deletion inside the app.

Open the Project Apis Hive Manager app.
Log in to your account.
Go to the Account section.
Select Delete My Account or Request Account Deletion.
Submit the deletion request.

Once submitted, Project Apis CIC will review and process the request.

How to request account deletion by email

If you cannot access the app, you can request account deletion by emailing us.

Please include:

Your full name
The email address used for your app account
A short message saying you want your Project Apis Hive Manager account deleted

What data may be deleted

When your deletion request is processed, we will delete or anonymise personal data linked to your app account where possible.

This may include:

Your app account profile
Your name and preferred name
Your email address
Your phone number, if provided
Your profile photo or avatar, if uploaded
Your consent preferences
Your emergency contact details
Your personal volunteer profile information

Data that may be retained

Some information may need to be kept, anonymised, or retained in a limited form where Project Apis CIC has a valid reason to do so.

This may include:

Volunteer attendance records needed for grant, funder, audit or impact reporting
Volunteer hour totals, where anonymised or separated from your personal account where possible
Hive inspection records, honey extraction records, queen records, colony records or apiary records submitted through the app
Safety, safeguarding, accident or incident records
Emergency contact access logs
Records needed for legal, insurance, fraud prevention, security or regulatory purposes

Where we need to keep project records, we will aim to remove or anonymise personal identifiers where they are no longer needed.

How long deletion takes

We aim to review account deletion requests as soon as reasonably possible. In most cases, we aim to process requests within 30 days.

If we need more information to confirm your identity or locate your account, we may contact you before completing the deletion.
